Wow!

I am going to pick at this a little bit because it is aggravating.

First of all, the title. How do you let a fictional television show ruin your life? I personally watched Buffy all the way through, I own it on DVD and I've watched it several times. It never gets old to me. That's not to say it's the only thing I watch. I'll put it away for months at a time and not give it a thought. Then I'll get a bug and decide to watch it some more. On that note Buffy has never had that type of effect on my life. Anyone who lets a television show "ruin" their life needs to read a book or go outside because they've been watching too much TV.

I am going to go through each of the points this person wrote about.

Point number 1: I Don’t Understand Why I Don’t Have Slayer Strength
Really? I do it's because vampire slayers don't exist therefore their strength does not either. Go to a gym and work out if you want to be strong. The world is not a fairy tale or television show (unlike that episode of south park where Earth was in fact a TV show produced and watched by aliens. Even then it was still realistic), you don't just wake up one day and have super powers so get over it.

Point number 2 was the only point in here that did not make me want to hurl. I do not match half the time but when I want to dress nice I can dress fashionably.

Point number 3: I Still Hold a Grudge Against Eliza Dushku
I don't even know what she is trying to say here. She is all over the map and does not support her argument at all. If you are going to write something like this that you know intelligent Buffy fans are going to stumble across you damn well better back it up or they will make sure you know it.

Point number 4: Was Convinced My Teen Years Were Going to be a Horribly Traumatic Experience
Again really? I am just flabbergasted at this. I know nothing about this person at all. I don't even know how old she is but she stated that she is married and an adult so I just have to say that she must not have been a very bright child. What did her parents do? Put her in front of the TV and say "this is what life is like learn something"? This has to be the case because I have always been a very imaginative person and I never thought high school was going to be anything close to that. I feel sorry for this person that she had to go through her teen years that way but I have to say it's highly ridiculous.

Last but certainly not least point number 5: Would Desperately Love to Live in a Land Where A Demon Forced Us to Break Out Into Song
While I know there are several people in the world who feel (somewhat) the same way. I.E. They grew up being in all the school musicals and would love to live breaking out into random song the rest of us don't feel the same way. I like the world without ridiculous song and dance numbers that pop out of no where. While I commend this person for being able to live in this fantasy world with puppies, kitties, and obviously a constant rainbow coming out of her rear, I live in the real world. In the real world a television show shouldn't ruin your life (unless you worked on it and were fired or something along those lines) and life isn't a song.

With all that said Buffy was a great show, but that doesn't mean I let it effect my life. All of the comments on this persons post from people who agree with her are smut. These people are not mentally sound and should get off the computer and go get some fresh air.
